Our wooden chalet in the village of Alvaneu Dorf with garden and car parking has all the comfort you will need during your stay.
"Liun" our affectionate tomcat is a part of the house exchange. It is important, that you stay every night of the agreed time, since the cat has to be taken care of! He will need to be fed and petted daily with lots of love. He loves people, is very gentle and cuddly. Nevertheless he is an extremely independent cat. He is chipped and goes in and out through the cat flap as he pleases. In summer he spends most of his time outside (especially at night) and sleeps in the house during the day or in the shade under the patio on the outdoor sofa. Since our cat is not used to children/other animals, we do not accept families with small children or pets.
We are looking for a quiet non-smoking and non-drinking couple (maximum 2 people) or a single person. No parties are allowed.
You enter the house on the ground floor, where you find the renovated kitchen with dishwasher, stove, oven, piston coffee maker (there is also a Nespresso machine), fridge with freezer and living room with large windows facing the mountains in the south and an exit to the sunny terrace. A stair leads from the terrace to our private garden with a meadow, outdoor fireplace and a garden shed. In the living room you find the dining table, a couch for two and a large "Samsung the frame" TV (with Netflix), "Sonos" speakers and a fast internet access.
On the first floor there is the renovated bathroom with shower, separate bathtub and a guest sleeping room with a double bed (2 mattresses 70 cm x 200 cm) for you. Our private sleeping room will be locked and is not at your disposal.
The basement is either reached by walking around the house outside or down, thru a steep staircase/ladder from the ground floor. There is a cloth washing machine in the basement, which you can use.
For the garden, there are deck chairs and hammock, which are deposited in the basement and may be used. Chopped wood is available and may be used in a reasonable quantity for the outdoor grill and fireplace in the garden. On the sunterrace you find a gas grill for a quick barbecue.

Our wooden chalet is situated between the world-famous mountain regions Davos and Lenzerheide (20 minutes by car), 3 famous golf courts (1 km from golf court Alvaneu Bad, 20 km from golf courts Davos and Lenzerheide). If you are interested in the Swiss railway, you find the UNESCO world heritage of RhB within walking distance (approx. 45 minutes) from our home. The Landwasser Viaduct is the largest and most spectacular bridge structure of the RhB and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008 (https://www.graubuenden.ch/en/attractions/landwasserviadukt). You can hopp on the train from Filisur (5 minutes from our home) to the italian town of Tirano. There are a lot of hiking, biking, alpine skiing, skitouring, cross-country skiing possibilities right here and nearby. You are surrounded by nature, cows, farming, mountains and mountain villages.
Alvaneu Dorf is one of the sunniest villages in Switzerland. In summertime there is sun from 7 in the morning until 8 in the evening on our terrace/garden. Alvaneu Dorf is situated in the middle of the Graubünden mountains. Alvaneu Dorf is a calm, laid-back little mountain village with a grocery store within a few steps from our house and several organic farms, where you can buy local food such as cheese, meat, eggs, potatoes, fresh fish or many other things. Please notice, there is no restaurant in the village. For eating out, you need to drive minimum 10 minutes to one of the neighboring villages.
Our chalet is situated on the main street between Davos and Tiefencastel and Lenzerheide. There is practically no traffic in the evening/night, therefore it is very quiet.
It is a 20-minute-drive to mountain village Lenzerheide, 25-mintes-drive to the famous mountain town Davos or a 20-minute-drive to picturesque villages of Bergün or Savognin. Our chalet can be reached by rental car from Zürich airport (2 hours) or public transportations from the airport of Zürich by train to Chur and connecting bus (Postauto) every hour during the day (see www.sbb.ch) within 2 hours 45 minutes. Chur, the main town of Graubünden with a lot of shopping or museum opportunities, is a 45-minute-car-drive away. You can also fly to the italian airport of Milano and arrive at our home within 3 hours by driving with a rental car.

We treat other people's accommodation with the utmost care, cleanliness and respect and use only the minimum of rooms we need. For us, cleanliness and tidiness is a matter of course. We attach great importance to cleanliness in our house as well. We hand over a clean house and expect the same from our guests when they leave (we do not have a cleaning person). It goes without saying that we behave in the same way in our hosts' homes.
Because we are still employed, our house is mostly available approx. one week in March, 3 to 4 weeks from middle of May until end of June and end of August until beginning of September for 2 weeks. We are open for offers for the mentionned periodes from places in one of our favorite countries.
