My home is an artistic, perhaps slightly bohemian and pretty eclectic family home in the middle of Hellissandur. The building has three apartments which I own and this place is on the upper floor, overlooking a glacier, the town and some of its most famous murals. The apartment is spacious, warm and cosy, ideal for families. In it you will find 3 bedrooms, a bathroom with a great shower, a creative room a piano, a few more instruments, a bit tv with a netflix account and an open kitchen. There is a hot tub, a balcony perfect for the evening sun (and northern lights) and patio in a big garden that has a trampoline, some home made swings and a football goal for the kids.
Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Hellissandur is on the Snæfellsnes peninsula, right on the doorstep of Snæfellsjökull glacier national park. I town you will find a local food store, some galleries and artist residencies, plenty of murals, statues and sculptures, the national park centre with its exhibition and restaurant and in summer time there is a great coffee house only 1 minutes walk from my place. There you will find quality coffee, cakes and the best fish soup in Iceland. The local Hotel also has a restaurant that is open all year and they serve excellent breakfast and dinner to the public as well as their guests. Nearby there is a beach, cliffs, lava fields, the local botanical park (Tröð) and many walk and cycling paths. In the national park you will find craters, more beaches, mountain paths, hiking paths and just about everything that the icelandic nature has to offer.

The place was built by my grandparents and is one of the oldest concrete houses in town, it´s also been the home of the only bookstore that this town has seen, which was also run by my late grandparents.
