Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Our home is fantastic for families and has modern yet homely decor, all of the mod-cons, great indoor-outdoor flow, with open plan living areas that enjoy all-day sun.
The house is very quiet and private - partly through location and partly through vegetation around our lovely garden. There is a large deck with outdoor furniture and a spa pool to relax, and a lawn for the kids to play.
You’ll never be wanting for something to do in the house with multiple streaming subscriptions services and dozens of board games. Our games room has a dart board and high quality pool table, which a table tennis top can be added to. If you’re travelling with little ones we can leave out some toys that we have stashed away from when our children were smaller. We also have a piano and a guitar which guests are welcome to use.
Sleeping arrangements are as follows: The master bedroom has a king size bed and a lounger chair that folds down into a bed. The second bedroom has a double bed. The third bedroom has a single bed with another foldaway bed underneath which can be added to make a double bed or configured as two singles. There is also a couch in the living area that folds down to a double bed.
The house is located in the heart of Karori, a few minutes walk from the town centres of Karori and Marsden.
There is off street parking available on the property and frequent buses depart from a stop two minutes from the house to the city centre which is 10 minutes away.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Karori is one of New Zealand's biggest and most family friendly suburbs. Karori is only 10 minutes by bike, bus, or car away from the CBD and is situated in a valley surrounded by green hills, bushland and native birds, thanks to the fact it is home to Zealandia, Wellington's bird-life sanctuary.
For those keen to explore New Zealand's famous outdoors, Karori has numerous hiking and walking trails offering spectacular views of the area. It is also home to the famous Makara Peak Bike Park, an award winning purpose built mountain bike park with over 40kms of beginner to expert tracks set in 250ha of bird filled native bush, including kiwi. This place is a must for any rider and bikes can be hired from the local bike shop.
If the kids need to let off steam, Karori has 2 local parks, both with playgrounds and one featuring a popular local cafe. For golfers, Karori Golf Club offers a challenging course in a lovely setting.
Karori Cemetery is a great place to spend an afternoon wandering. Opened in 1891, it is New Zealand's second largest cemetery and has a fascinating history - be sure to send the kids off to find the statue of Mrs Chippy the Cat, one of the members of Shackleton's infamous Antarctic expedition!
Across the road from the house is Karori Pool with an indoor heated 25-metre heated pool, a toddlers' pool, and a hydro-slide.
The house is a 5 minute walk to Karori's two shopping areas, Marsden Village, featuring cafes, hairdressers, takeaways and a local pub that serves great meals and has a huge selection of craft beers. In the other direction, is a small shopping mall with two supermarkets, a pharmacy, public library, cafes, a ‘pop up’ market and a recreation centre.
Try a walk up Wrights Hill or Johnsons Hill and along the skyline on a nice day for great views over the city
There is a great cafe (and butchery) on Gipp Street which is just a few minutes walk away.
Visit the beautiful Futuna Chapel on Friend Street, take a drive for a stunning walk at Makara Beach (20min in car) or walk the Bush in Wilton (5 min in car)

Le mot de la fin
We also have a few chickens that we keep free range in a fenced off area along the side of the house. The chickens are self-sufficient and guests can help themselves to daily fresh eggs for most of the year.
