Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
We live in apartment on the ground floor, with a garden, in a typical ‘portiek woning’ (the hague offers many of these small apartment buildings). It’s renovated recently and it’s very insulated, which means the temperature is always comfortable and it’s relatively quiet for its location (triple glazing and insulation in the walls and ceiling). We have 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a living room with an open kitchen. 1 bedroom has a small 2 persons bed (140 cm wide) and the other room has a 1 person bed for an adult, 1 kids bed and 1 baby bed.
We live there with 2 adults and 2 small kids, so there are kids chairs / kids cutlery/ toys available.
In the garden are several small tables and chairs. We also store our bikes there.
You can borrow our bikes. We have 1 electric mommy bike and 1 men’s bike. There are two kids seats available for the bike (one for up to 2 years old and 1 for up to 5 years old). You can also rent a ‘bakfiets’ in our neighbourhood via an app and you can rent normal bikes at the train station nearby.
Next to our home is school with a public playground that is fun for all ages. Our neighbours are very quiet. On our right side there is a small local theatre which sometimes surprises us with some soft musical sounds like a piano, but never late in the evening or early mornings.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
I don’t know where to start! Our house has a very strategic location to visit the Netherlands. A small summary:
10-15 min walking to the city centre of The Hague, which has a lot to offer.
25 minutes to the beach (either with the tram or by bike). There are several beaches you can visit, Scheveningen is visited by tourists a lot, and ‘Zuiderstrand’ is more quiet and therefore has more local visitors.
It takes 10 minutes to walk to the big train stations Den Haag centraal as well as Den Haag Holland Spoor. From there you can take the train (or metro / bus / tram) to many places very fast, such as:
Schiphol (30 min)
The Hague/Rotterdam airport (30 min)
Amsterdam (52 min)
Rotterdam (21 min)
Utrecht (37 min)
Brussel (Belgium) (2h)
Paris and Disney (France) (3-4h)
I know Amsterdam has its unique offerings, but if you are looking for a similar experience (old canal city) with less other tourists around you, I would definitely recommend to take the train to Delft (7 minutes) or Leiden (12 minutes) or Dordrecht (1h5).
We also live close to the highway, which means it takes you by car:
36 minutes to Keukenhof
50 minutes to Kinderdijk
35 minutes to Schiphol
1h35 to Antwerp (Belgium)
In our neighbourhood you normally have to pay for parking, but if you send us your license plate in advance we register you as visitors (which means you can park for free).
