Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement

Our home is a cosy secluded house tucked away on a wooded hillside with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for socialising and relaxing. We have the best of both worlds – quiet seclusion and wildlife yet we are less than a mile away from the high street and trains to the coast and London as well as country walks. It has been our family home for the last 23 years and now that the children have fully left home, it’s time for us to discover other beautiful places and countries and share our home for others to enjoy.

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier

Our neighbourhood is called Sleepers Hill where we try to keep a country feel in the heart of the city. You can set off on shorter or longer countryside walks and pub stops along the river or the hills (The Downs) right from our door on the amazing network of footpaths. Or you can pop into town less than a mile away and explore its history, network of medieval lanes and streets and enjoy the cafes, restaurants, shops and markets. There is also a cinema, theatre, comedy and live music venues and a very new leisure centre if you need a culture or exercise fix.

Winchester is a beautiful cathedral city, once the capital of England on the river Itchen steeped in Iron Age, Roman, Saxon, and Norman history. It has many ancient buildings including the impressive Cathedral, the Great Medieval Hall with King Arthur’s round table used by Henry the VIII, the medieval St Cross Hospital and much more, set in a medieval fabric of lanes, alleys, river walks and hill forts for you to explore. You won’t be short of things to do and see, and plenty of great pubs, restaurants, coffee houses and shops of course in the High Street too.
The main train station is less than a mile away where you can get to coastal beaches, London, Oxford and many other destinations in less that an hour.
You can comfortably get to and from Winchester either by train or coach from the airports + a taxi if you have a lot of luggage.
