Travelling with a child: this is one of very few buildings in Bangkok that offers facilities beyond a pool: a playground room for babies to 8-y-o, and a games room with billiard plus two other games.
The complex of 4 buildings is called Supalai Oriental Sukhumvit 39, you can search for it.
The WiFi is in the co-working space in floor 35, at the play rooms/swimming pool/gym, and ground floors. You can see two pictures of the co-working space here
Cleaning fee 1200 B$ one time. A 2000-B$ refundable deposit is needed for the magnetic access card: in case of loss it's very problematic to replace
The mattress, 196 x 154 cm, can be hard for Western standards. This is supposed to be good for one’s back, but it can be tricky for people that sleep mostly on the side.
We would be happy to have a videocall before you decide, in order to show you the apartment

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Part of the Japanese neighbourough in Bangkok, you can find live music venues, restaurants, and public transport.
It is close to Terminal 21 and EmQuartier shopping malls, and to the very well know (perhaps for not so nice reasons - but there are there very nice music bars!) Soi Cowboy.
Strongly recommended bars and restaurants:
- The Living Room, the live jazz venue at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, 2.7 km away. It offers live music every day, mostly jazz, from 20:00 to 22:45 in 3 45-minute sessions. We love some of the cocktails there (e.g. negroni) at 400 - 500B$, along with the pasta (400-550 B$), but the dishes are short
- The Classic Room, a live jazz venue Fridays and Saturdays, it's in Phetchaburi Road, about 250 m from our building. The happy hours 1 + 1 cocktails for 260 - 400 B$ offer some great experiences. Food is also very recommendable
- Bar Us. About 3 km away, straight into Sukhumvit road and then cross to alley (soi) 26 was listed one of the 50 best Asians bar recently (not sure about the moral authority of the source), of which only 4 are in Bangkok. I tried the "starter" truffle, cinnamon, pineapple and it was a truly joy (550 B$). You will find their web site, best way to find the site is to look for Golf Swing Academy just in front of their alley (of an alley)
- Japanese Ramen in this street, very recommendable. One of these restaurants is called Ramen Bankara, about 2/3 towards Sukhumvit, at The Manor 32/1 Soi Sukhumvit 39, Klongtin Nue Watthana.
- Try cheap Thai and Chinese food is plentiful. For example at basement 1 of the EmQuartier building (reminder: you get there by foot, 2km, or by shuttle, see below)

Le mot de la fin
Transport, internet and more.
Transport
----------------
From the airport:
Transport from the airport I would possibly suggest three preferred ways:
- Taxi: just make sure that you follow the instructions to the taxis that meter. Perhaps 500 B$, prices depend on traffic.
- The Skyrail connection. Fast and cheaper, it takes 21' to Makkasan station, from there one can walk 6 minutes to either Asok pier and take a boat to Italthai pier (they are frequent and it takes 5 minutes), and my building is in front; OR, you can cross the street from Asok pier to the Singha building and pick up the shuttle to Supalai, they depart at hours o'clock 8:00 to 20:00 except 13:00. You tell the driver that your condo is 652. There's only one pick up/drop off site in the Singha building, towards the East of the building
- GRAB can be complex for first-time visitors, and it offers limited discount over taxis. (For city trips, it offers higher discounts, see below)
Moving around
I tend to walk to Phrom Phong BTS, it’s about 2 km, but it may be a lot when one’s tired. Phetchaburi MRT is even closer. A motorcycle to Phrom Phong costs 25 B$.
I strongly recommend using local transport apps BOLT or GRAB. I use Bolt and pay in cash after the ride, and I always use motorbikes, sometimes alone, sometimes taking my 4-y-o to kindergarten. The apps are really to use, it’s worth even for a 7-day visit. With these apps, prices are 50-69% of the normal motorbike/taxi fares. However, the best is the pace of mind to know that I’m NOT being cheated
Telecoms
-----------
SIM cards bought at the airport are vastly more expensive that at any 7-eleven shop at 49B$- but still reasonable at 200-300B$
For e-SIM best could probably be to buy one SIM at 7/11 and then go to a AIS shop and ask them to change it to e-SIM.
At the shop, you should buy already for the 14 days and do not leave any balance at all. Surprisingly, in this country your balance may be charged by receiving (spam/scam) SMSs!!!!!!
