Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Onapua Bay is a unique wilderness experience enjoyed by 4 generations of my family. Spend your time swimming, catching fish off the jetty, collecting mussels, cooking your catch on the beach, hiking through the forest, kayaking or rowing around the shore or just chilling out watching the birds and magnificent view from the comfort of the lounge and fire. It is totally secluded, private spot that you will give you an unforgettable experience.
The space
There are two houses (one kitchen, two lounges, five double bedrooms, two bathrooms). The houses are joined and surrounded by a large wooden deck with uninterrupted views across a lawn that slopes gently down to your own sheltered cove, a jetty, mooring, and the sea.
The property is north facing and receives all day sun.
It is a much-loved place with safe swimming, a wharf for diving and fishing off, swings, a huge flat lawn for football, cricket and other ball games, a kayak, and dinghy.
The houses offer comfortable living, but with the full 'close to nature' Marlborough Sounds experience.
There are forest and seabirds in the bay and a large supply of fresh mussels at your doorstep.
There is no light pollution so you can enjoy the magnificent night sky above you and on some nights the magical phosphorescence in the sea.
There is a beautiful upright Blutner piano for anyone who plays.
We are off the grid. There is a modern solar system that powers the lights, fridge/freezer and small appliances. Heating is from fires.
Water Taxis are available to take you to and from the bay (30 minutes) and bring in regular supplies of fresh food. The supermarket and other shops in Picton will package and deliver your food to the water taxis. There is no road access.
There is a surveyed 2 Tonne mooring in the bay.
This property will ideally suit people who want to truly get away from it all and immerse themselves in nature and have a very special time together.
There is average cell phone coverage from the house, out in the bay there is a full strength signal.
This is a new listing but here are two guest comments from 'VRBO':
"An amazing piece of paradise. Seven nights of pure bliss. That view... accommodation was perfect for our needs and fitted the 9 of us perfectly. We felt very at home immediately. Will definitely be returning.. this is rustic beauty at its best."
"Staying at Brent's feels like living in the sounds, rather than just visiting. The house nestles in its bay and gets great sun. We could pop out for a fish off the point, go back later if we liked the weather better. Beds and bedding all great. Two living rooms were fab as we took work to do (Internet is adequate) Loved the cabin. Water heating by chippy adds to the fun. Our 5m boat managed the pack in by getting groceries delivered ahead and landing some guests on same mail boat."

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
The Marlborough Sounds are one of NZ's nature icons. The home of the Great Walk - The Queen Charlotte Track. Also close to one of the other Great Walks - The Abel Tasman. The Sounds themselves are a favourite destination for tourists but they are never crowded as the number of bays and inlets are vast. A cute seaside town - Picton - is at the entrance to the Sounds. Nelson and its national parks are 2 hours drive away. Kaikoura and its Whale watching is 1.5 to 2 hours away. Wellington City is a 3 hours ferry ride away.
