Welcome to Chandler's House, a 2 bedroom, 3.5 bath custom home with stunning mountain views! This home is perfectly located, in Penrose, NC, to be a home base for families and groups in the area to bike in Dupont State Forest, hike in Pisgah National Forest, or explore downtown Brevard. After the adventures of the day, return to Chandler's House to cook out on the gas grill and enjoy the mountain views from the open decks.
As guests reach the top of the driveway, 3 parking spots are available in the driveway. A staircase leads from the driveway to the main entrance of the home on the front deck. The open concept living area has cozy seating, a stone fireplace with gas logs, television, and fantastic views of the mountains. The dining table is complete with seating for 6. The kitchen is complete with a standard coffee maker, Thermador gas stove with double ovens, and the home is stocked with all the dishes, pots, and pans needed for your meals. The laundry room, with full sized washer and dryer, and half bathroom are also located on the main level.
The primary bedroom is located on the main level of the home and boasts a King-sized Sleep Number bed and large TV. The ensuite bathroom is home to dual sinks and custom walk-in tile shower.
The second bedroom is located upstairs and is home to a Queen-sized bed.
The open common space upstairs is complete with a trundle bed. The second full bathroom, with single sink and a shower/bathtub, is also located upstairs.
Including the trundle bed, Chandler's House accommodates 6 guests comfortably.
As guests travel from the main floor to the lower level of the home, they will be greeted by a cozy entertainment space with another large television and comfortable seating, a mountain mural, and a table perfect for puzzles and games. A third full bathroom with walk-in shower is also located on the lower level.
The outdoor spaces at Chandler House are hard to beat! Enjoy your morning coffee from a chair on the main level deck or go downstairs to the lower level deck and relax on the custom built swing. Wherever you choose to pull up a seat, you can soak up the mountain views!
Our home is stocked with fresh, professionally laundered linens and supplies to make your stay comfortable. Confirmed guests will receive a texts like the door code and directions.

Land of Waterfalls - There are 1,000+ miles of trails to give hikers of all ages and skill levels to chance to take a turn on the road less traveled.
You can choose to hit the trail in a national forest with 500k acres (Pisgah - 10 miles away), a state forest with 12k acres (Dupont - 3 miles away) or a state park with 8k acres (Gorges - 21 miles away).
My favorite hikes are Triple Falls in Dupont Forest, Cradle of Forestry, The Pink Beds in Pisgah NF although walking along the Davidson river watching the fly fishing people test their skills to catch River Smallmouth during the summer, Brook Trout in the higher elevations or Rainbows all year round.
Brevard is magnet for every level of cyclists. Pisgah and Dupont have over 300 miles of single track paths plus hundreds more miles of fire roads and an endless variety of roads for any challenge level. We host a deeply ingrained biking culture open to giving visitors all the information needed to make the most out of biking vacation.
The NC Arboretum (19 miles away) designed by the infamous landscape architect Frederick Olmsted (NY Central Park, Ground of US Capitol, Biltmore Estate in Ashville, Mount Royal in Montreal....)
The Biltmore Estate (22 miles away) built by the Vanderbuilts finished in 1895 is Americas largest home with 250 room French Renaissance Chateau is simply amazing. The gardens with a massive green house is a must-see but the massive campus also includes a winery and a stunning Chihuly Museum plus petting farm for the kid in all of us.
The house has many tour options but my favorites are the Christmas tour and the Roof tour.
