Nestled in the picturesque Hudson Valley, our spacious 3-bedroom, 2 1/2-bathroom home in High Falls, NY, offers the perfect blend of contemporary comforts and rural charm. Our light-filled house has a multi-level open plan with vaulted ceilings, 7 skylights, 2 wood burning fireplaces and a yoga/exercise studio.
The private backyard deck & garden has a heated in-ground swimming pool, screened in porch, and sauna set in a separate cottage structure surrounded by a cottage style flower garden and woods beyond. Relax and unwind in our very comfy chaise lounges, swivel recliners or hammock and enjoy the quiet sounds of the country.

Our home is located along a quiet country road near the Hudson Valley's many attractions, and yet is just 2 hours north of New York City by bus or car. Winding rural roads take you through historic towns and villages, past 18th century Dutch stone houses and along roads dotted with picturesque farms & apple orchards. With a rich history, abundance of natural beauty and a concentration of world class cultural sites, New York's Hudson Valley is the ideal escape.
Opportunities for outdoor recreation & activities abound in the Hudson Valley. Hike, bike, golf, forest bathe or just enjoy a quiet stroll taking in the nature and wildlife at the Mohonk Mountain Preserve, Minnewaska State Park, the Catskill Mountains and the Shawangunk Ridge. The many trails of the Rails to Trails System in the Hudson Valley and Catskills, the Poets Walk and our favorite, the River-to-Ridge Trail provide many enjoyable hours of ambling about in the beautiful countryside. In the summer - take a swim in the nearby waterholes & near the falls at High Falls, and in the winter you can cross-country ski or go snow shoeing.
The Hudson Valley is a leader in the farm-to-table movement in the US and boasts many farms & orchards with opportunities to pick your own berries or flowers in the summer and apples or pumpkins in the fall. The fall also offers activities for the whole family to enjoy at local farms. In the summer, enjoy freshly grown organic produce from nearby Tributary Farm, one of the many CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) in the region.
After apple picking, relax at one of the many cideries or breweries that have sprung up in recent years as old apple orchards and farms have been revived and turned into lively new eateries and music venues. The nearby Westwind Orchard situated in a bucolic setting produces world class cider and has wonderful pizza along with other Italian dishes, and right across the road, Arrowood Farms has a brewery, restaurant and outdoor music venue. Locally grown organic produce is a feature on the menu of many of the area's restaurants including the world renown Culinary Institute of America (CIA).
For those who appreciate history and architecture, Historic Huguenot Street in New Paltz is a National Historic Landmark District home to many stone houses, some dating from the 17th century. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited streets in the USA. Hurley, a 15 minute drive from our house, is another National Historic Landmark with centuries old stone houses reflecting the Dutch influence in the Hudson Valley.
While staying at our home you can visit the famous sites of the Historic Hudson Valley such as: Franklin Delano & Eleanor Roosevelt's Homes and the FDR Presidential Library in Hyde Park, the Vanderbilt Mansion, Montgomery Place & the Wilderstein Historic Site - just a few of the many mansions and gardens in the Hudson Valley and of course the majestic Mohonk Mountain House just 15 minutes from our house.
The Hudson Valley also has many unique museums you can enjoy such as: Bethel Woods (Site of the Original Woodstock Festival) - now a museum of the 1960s & Concert Venue, the recently opened Borscht Belt Museum and the International Museum of Dinnerware Design (IMoDD). In addition to the many art galleries, you can visit the art and sculpture at Storm King, Dia Beacon, the mesmerizing monumental earthwork sculpture at Opus 40, and the bold & whimsical architecture of Frank Gehry's Fischer Center for Performing Arts at Bard College.
Of course there is the famous music scene of Woodstock only 40 minutes from our home where you can listen to music at many venues in Woodstock, Ashokan Center and other Hudson Valley towns as well as enjoy classical music in the Woods at Maverick Concert Hall and the Fischer Center for Performing Arts.
Finally, you may enjoy antiquing at the nearby quaint villages and towns of High Falls, Stoneridge, New Paltz, Kingston, Woodstock and Rhinebeck.
