We have a dog Jonesy, to be aware of (if a tenant is concerned about allergies). He won’t be here while we’re away! We may consider your pet.
Marcus is a Builder from the Netherlands and Helen works in IT software development, and is a kiwi. Our children are Bobby (10) & Lila (8). As a family we love going camping, getting out in nature, spending time at the gorgeous beaches here, and the kids play football (of course, having a Dutch dad!)
We have a great view of Otago Harbour and across to Signal Hill & Mt Cargill. The house is private, with an established garden full of native plants and surrounded by hedges.
Renovated 6 years ago: our home is fully insulated and double-glazed, with a ducted heat pump central heating/cooling. Covered deck area (like another room!), sunny outdoor patio, conservatory mixed use space (laundry and lounge area). We also have a wood burner that heats the home well, with plenty of firewood for winter.
We live in a sheltered and sunny spot, with good daytime winter sun. While we don’t have a dedicated study, I’ve worked from home for the past few years, sitting in the large hallway, with a sit/stand desk. It’s lovely with natural light and an extra screen.
Our home is filled with many sky lights, making it lovely and bright.
Our backyard isn’t huge. We have some veges growing, and a little playhouse called “Lila’s studio”, with all her crafty, arty stuff! She’ll spend hours there painting. There is a swing all the kids love, and the deck is great to just hang out.

There are many parks and the “town belt” for walking is just down our street, less than 1 minute walk. There are playgrounds, sports fields, a golf course all within walking distance. Kaikorai Primary is less than a 10 min walk (where our kids go). Many High Schools are nearby. Roslyn Village (Supermarket, Bakery, Cafes, Restaurant, Pharmacy, Physio, Medical Centre, Hairdressers, nails etc) is only a 2min walk. Moana Pool only a 10min walk/3min drive.
It is only a 5 min walk to get access to 5 regular bus routes.
You can drive to the centre city within 4-5mins, and walk down the hill in 20min. The university campus is around a 30min walk/10min drive.

The location is great, it’s walking distance to many places, including the University, and nice and close to main bus routes (although walking home is a decent up-hill hike!)
We love the location, and our home. It’s warm and dry and has everything you need.
Dunedin is a great base while in NZ. We’re only 3.5hr from Queenstown, Wanaka, Arrowtown, 2.5hr to Invercargill (Rakiura Stewart Island), 2hr to the Catlins, 1.5hr to places like Naseby and Oamaru. The city is small, but punches above its weight - we have some great museums, lots of cafes and restaurants, gorgeous beaches, amazing nature - all on our doorstep.
