My historic home is a fully modern 3 bedroom/3 bath house with an open concept kitchen, dining room, sitting room, family room, and a home office & library. The historic portion of the home was built in 1923 to house the town's post office and served that purpose until 1928, when it was then converted into a residential home. I completely renovated and expanded the house in 2018, while complying with historic preservation requirements. The house is located directly across the street from the town's MARC commuter train station (Brunswick Line). It takes only 22 minutes to travel by MARC train from Garrett Park to Union Station in downtown Washington, D.C. The Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station on the Metro's Red Line is located one mile (a 20-minute walk) from the town, as is the Strathmore music and performing arts center. The cities of Bethesda, Rockville, and Kensington are also located nearby. Also located directly across the street from my house is a walking and biking trail that leads to the Rock Creek Trail, which extends all the way to downtown Washington, D.C. Also located directly across the street from my house is the delightful Black Market Bistro restaurant, the Garret Park post office, and the Art at Penn Place art gallery. Also located directly across the street from my house are the town's tennis and basketball courts. And, every Saturday morning, from February through December, a Farmer's Market takes place in the street directly in front of my house!

Garrett Park is a charming small town (population 996) located in a forested setting next to Rock Creek Park in southern Montgomery County, Maryland. Established in 1898, the town is on the National Register of Historic Places and as is recognized as being a "Living Arboretum." MARC commuter train service runs directly through Garrett Park, with the town's quaint train station being located directly across the street from my house! It takes only 22 minutes to travel by MARC train from Garrett Park to Union Station in Washington, D.C. Please be aware that there is occasional train noise 24/7. The house is well-insulated to minimize the noise. Not a good choice for a light sleeper.
