We live in Saanich, and within Saanich resides Royal Oak. Saanich is a vibrant and diverse district located on Vancouver Island, just north of Victoria. Known for its lush landscapes, Saanich offers a mix of urban and rural living, with numerous parks, trails, and recreational facilities. The area is home to several educational institutions, including Camosun College, making it a hub for students and families alike. We are close to Elk Lake which provides residents with opportunities for outdoor activities such as swimming, fishing, and hiking. We are within walking distance to the Horticultural center of the Pacific Northwest, a beautiful area for plants, flowers and a wonderful cafe.
Royal Oak, where we live is a charming neighborhood within Saanich, is particularly popular for its family-friendly atmosphere and convenient amenities. The Royal Oak Shopping Centre and Broadmead Centre serves as a central hub for shopping and dining, while the nearby Commonwealth Place offers a range of recreational facilities, including a pool and fitness center. The neighborhood is also well-connected by public transit, by means of the Royal Oak exchange. We are about 3 minutes via car to the exchange, and probably a 20-to-25-minute walk. The exchange makes it easy for residents to commute to downtown Victoria or other parts of the district.
