Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
Here's how we formally describe our place:
You’ll find a sweet spot to enjoy Seaside at Saltbox Cottage, a classic single-level located 4 blocks from the beach, and only a 10 min walk to town. Located near the promenade in the desirable south end of town, just two blocks from the golf course, market, wood-fired pizza, Billy Mac's, and Osprey Cafe, you've got everything right at hand, without the crowds. This 1920 cottage with seahorse shutters has a large deck for soaking in the sun or warming up over the grill on a blustery day. A plush sofa ringed by windows in the living room faces a large TV. You can plan to eat in, thanks to a table and island in the roomy kitchen--though it’s an easy walk to many of Seaside’s restaurants! One queen bedroom and one single bedroom with desk provide comfortable retreats to rest up after your beach adventures or catch up on work in the quiet. Once you’ve explored Seaside, it’s an easy day trip to Astoria’s fun downtown, the Columbia River Maritime Museum and a climb up the Astoria column. Enjoy the charming, retro vibe of this historic cottage and relish its prime location for fun in Seaside!
For surfers: 2 min drive to the Cove, or 15 min walk down the beach to the break. The large deck is easy for laying out and drying your gear, and sawhorses and a hose are available for washing everything outside. From this location, you can easily try out multiple breaks in one day--from Short Sands to Indian Beach, to the Cove and experience some of the best waves on the west coast.
Please note: due to the historical layout of this cottage, the kitchen ceiling is low (7ft), and the bedroom hall and doorways are narrow. We embrace this as part of the charm!

And here's why we love it:
This home was a labor of love and full interior remodel--it's not fancy, but it is fun, bright, easy to care for, not too precious, and perfect with kids. It sits on a roomy lot in a quiet residential neighborhood.
Seaside has some of the best surfing on the west coast, and you've got loads of other surf options within 15 min-2 hrs if you want to check out a few.
The bedrooms are teeny tiny, but the living room is super spacious.
We hope you will feel the cheer that our beach getaway brings our family!

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
Our cottage sits on the south end of Seaside, away from the busy Prom. Our neighborhood is mostly residential, calm, and quiet. There is a pump track and playground 2 blocks away, and the beach is a 5 min walk. You'll find a small grocery within a couple blocks, as well as all the supplies you might need from bigger retailers within 5-20 min. Seaside is extremely bike-friendly and there are lots of large events and conventions all year-round. While the main part of town is quite "touristy," we embrace it and enjoy the arcade, carousel, and ice cream shops with our kids. You won't need to drive much if you don't want to, or you could plan to check out surrounding parks and nearby beaches for a change of pace.
