Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
We love our garden and home. It's a calm restful space and a great base to explore the Wairarapa, our local area. We live in gorgeous historic Greytown, and are 5 minutes walk from shops and restaurants, also 5 minutes from the bus stop which connects you to the trail to Wellington from Woodside Station.
Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
We are 1.5 hours by train or car from New Zealand's capital city, Wellington with it's beautiful harbour, amazing national museum of Te Papa, and the famous Cable Car.
Our area is called the Wairarapa. It's famous for it's wineries especially in Martinborough and Gladstone, each 15 minutes drive from Greytown. It's mainly a farming area and is surrounded by beautiful mountains. There are some big events in our area. In winter our town celebrates mid-winter with a month-long festival from June to July. In January the Toast Martinborough wine and food festival is held. At Easter there is a hot-air balloon festival based in our town of Greytown. In April is a 2 week Gin Festival in our town. The world famous Golden Shears are held in March in Masterton. It's a sheep shearing competition!
In early May the town of Featherston (10 minutes away) has a book festival which features books and story telling in New Zealand's only booktown.
Just 50 minutes drive by car is Pukaha, New Zealand's National Wildlife Centre where you can view kiwi and many other native birds in a beautiful bush setting.
Our town is quiet and charming with a laid-back feel. While you stay in Greytown you can enjoy boutique shopping, cafes and restaurants, gin and wine tastings, cycle the local Greytown to Woodside trail, or enter into the native forest walks of the nearby Tararua Mountains.

Le mot de la fin
Recently moved from Queenstown in the South Island to Greytown in the North Island. The first reviews you see are for our previous home in Queenstown. Our home in Greytown is modern and has very similar facilities and of course the same hosts! Us!
