Alongside our main residence in the village of Tavaklı, we have purpose-built, self-contained guest accommodation. The unit includes a bedroom, kitchen, living room, and bathroom. This is a traditional Turkish home in a traditional Turkish village, with local Turkish neighbours. It is located in the countryside, nestled by the mountains.
There is much to see and do in our local area, with a rich mix of history, culture, and tourism. A Welcome Guide is provided in the property, offering an itinerary of suggested day trips. If you are exchanging through GP Points, we live next door and are happy to assist with anything you may need. We speak both Turkish and English and are glad to help you find your way around.
The guest accommodation is fully equipped to ensure a comfortable stay. The property is strictly non-smoking indoors, but there are covered outdoor areas available for smokers. There is no cleaning fee – we simply ask that you leave the property as you found it.
If you are staying as part of a home exchange (not applicable with GP Points), we kindly ask you to feed our lovable tabby cat and water a few plants. In the height of summer, the garden also requires watering, but this is easily managed using the irrigation system – it’s just a matter of turning the taps on and off.
Please note that we do not allow pets. Thank you for your consideration. As is customary in Turkish homes, we kindly ask that you do not wear shoes inside. Slippers are provided.

The accommodation is located 3 km from the coast. The village has a small shop for basic provisions. It is considered remote, as there is a steep hill leading up from the coast to the village, and the nearest town, Ezine, is 25 km away. However, along the coastal road, you’ll find a number of shops, small restaurants, and a beautiful, unspoiled sandy beach.
The guest accommodation is set within a walled garden, which also contains the main residence where we live. There is ample secure parking available behind locked gates. Guests have access to a terrace with a sea view, outdoor seating, and a barbecue set for al fresco dining.
To make the most of your stay, we recommend having your own transport or hiring a car. Alternatively, we can offer the use of a well-maintained 150cc motorbike. For day trips, there are many fascinating sites within easy reach, including the ancient ruins of Troy, the city of Çanakkale, Apollo Smintheion, Bozcaada (Tenedos Island), Assos, Alexandria Troas, and many more—all within an hour’s drive or less. There's truly a lot to see and explore in the area.

If you are staying using GP Points, we will meet you upon arrival and collect the keys from you when you depart. If needed, we can meet you at the coach terminal in Ezine and take you to the accommodation. We are also happy to drop you back at the terminal for your return journey. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.
The accommodation is equipped with both a smoke alarm and a carbon monoxide alarm. The home is heated by a wood-burning stove and does not have air conditioning. As we are located in the Aegean region, the climate is milder than the Mediterranean, but if you wish to avoid the heat, it’s best to avoid mid-June through to the end of August.
The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, serving dishes, glassware, cutlery, coffee mugs, a bottle opener, toaster, kettle, breadboard, cheese board, egg boiler, and an iron. All windows (and the entrance door) are fitted with fly/mosquito screens.
There is a full-size oven, a washing machine, drying rack, laundry basket, buckets, brushes, rags, and brooms. A first aid kit is provided. The property also includes a larder fridge, a television with local cable channels, and a hairdryer. For storage, there is a generously sized wardrobe for hanging garments, as well as a small safe for securing your valuables.
