Ce que vous allez adorer dans ce logement
This exchange is for part of the house which is much bigger than we need for 4 and a (discreet, mostly outside) cat : we'll be your guests and you'll have all the privacy you need in a separate zone / shared cooking and diner possible or not as per your preference (there also is an inside and outside kitchen ;-)
Our family home is a spacious villa in the south of France with a typical Provençal local architecture with tiled roofs and a gorgeous high ceiling main dining room. All rooms have a view to our 15 meter pool and old olive trees overlooking the nearby Cévennes mountains where you will be able to hike and swim in rivers.
THIS GP automatic calculation is for 6 people. As the presence and utilities bill be lesser for smaller parties, we'll gladly reduce GPs by 10 points per person : up to 50 GP less for a single person (we're new here, not 100% sure how do do it).
LIVING AREA
Our favorite room is actually the outside terrace equipped with a large moroccan table sitting 8/10 and it's own outside kitchen (4 burner gaz cooker, oven and sink) overlooking the pool (approx. 15x5 meters / 100m3 of water capacity with a springboard and a nice view towards the Cévennes mountains and daily incredible sunsets over them.
Belongside the outside kitchen, there is the inside kitchen with an 3-zone Induction plate, US fridge with cool water (ice broken recently), with a central kitchen island sitting 5 and a very large double living area separated by a double-sided fireplace kept flexible and open so that you can all eat on one side and also organize an art or yoga course on the other side without having to move any furniture (A/C).
We have fiber / Wi-Fi throughout the house and various desks available to work.
OUTSIDE ZONE
All bedrooms have a view to the large pool surrounded by a large "travertin" local stone terrace with an outside shower surrounded by our x11 large olive trees, large oak trees and lavender. Naming our house "Villa Lavande" was a no brainer when an elder person from the village told us there used to be lavender fields on the house's 4000m2 land in the past. The jacuzzi you may see in some photos is currently out of order.
At the back of the house, you’ll have access to our laundry room, a quiet shaded garden, a fruit tree zone (help yourself) and direct access to a large forest with a walking path taking you to Monteils' old stone village. If you are mountain biking enthusiasts, you'll have lots to do directly from the house (2 of our neighbors are near professionals and even build huge jumps on tracks a few meters away from the house)
You will easily park up to x5 cars in front (x2) and at the back of the house (x3).
Mimi is our kind young lady cat born in 2023 saved from the forest who is always looking for caresses … and food.
Evidently, a pool liner is a fragile and utterly expensive thing, no rocks or any cutting surface is to be used / thrown in the pool. We try to check the water level daily in summer. Do tell us if you hear / see any issue with the skimmers and pump.
SLEEPING ZONE
You can comfortably live there with us in with your privacy in a 57sqm private space in the first floor attic under a wooden frame sleeping up to x6 people comprised of a :
. large 33sqm room with a double bed and two single beds for 4 people
. 13sqm room that can be used as a separate quiet office space / luggage / playroom / extra bedding for up to x2 people
. private bathroom with a sink, shower and toilet.
There is a portable A/C provided for summer days.
Your total bedding capacity is x6 people with:
x1 140cm wide double bed and x2 80-90cm wide single beds in the large attic room
x2 80-90cm wide single beds in the smaller room

Ce que vous allez adorer dans le quartier
It is in a quiet beautiful natural stone provençal village area close to many places to visit unclkuding Unesco-protected sites.
There are many walks you can make from the house (people drive to Monteils parking lot to meet-up for walks)
Its' garden is limitless as we are in an open area sharing direct access to a natural pine and oak tree forest shared with our great eco-friendly neighbors (a passive house designer and a model maker working for France's best museums and cinema studios). We share our access road with both, living in earth / straw houses. Should you need anything, they will be a friendly helping hand.
Here are a few of the main sites in order of driving time :
. under 15mn : Euzet, Deaux, Mons, Vézénobres (the last two have nice restaurants, pharmacies, groceries)
. 15 to 30mn drive : Alès, Alègres-les-fumades (thermal station re-opened in 2025), La Bambouseraie (300.000 visitors per year), Saint-quentin-la-poterie, Uzès, Vézénobres
. 30 to 45mn drive : Grottes de la Salamandre & Trabuc, Vézénobres, Uzès, Nimes, Pont du Gard (Unesco), the Cévennes mountains for hiking and swimming in beautiful rivers
. 1h00 : Avignon (Le palais des papes - Unesco), Arles (Lula museum - Frank Gehry and Monument Romain - Unesco) and the sea, Grotte de Chauvet (Unesco)
. 1h15mn : Montpellier (Planet Ocean, Museums, Old town, …), Orange (Théâtre antique), Les Causses (Unesco)
