Just across the road from the beach, our home is built around a screened, paved patio with a free-form swimming pool.
We're very private, surrounded by tropical trees and flowering shrubs. The living area, study and two of the bedrooms look out on to a lovely lake frequented by snowy egrets, blue herons, white ibis, hawks, and eagles.
Our living area is large and open plan with areas for formal dining and comfortable seating. We have a breakfast bar in the kitchen area. The bedrooms are split plan with two bedrooms on the west side and the study and third bedroom on the east side. All have en suite bathrooms.
Each of the three bedrooms has its own en-suite bathroom. The master bedroom has a walk in closet and shower. There is also a fully equipped office with a desktop computer, high speed wireless internet and a printer with fax, scan and copy capabilities. The study has French doors that lead out on to an open paved patio.
The master bedroom has a California king size bed and the master bathroom a glass enclosed shower. The guest rooms each have queen sized beds. One guest bathroom has a combined bath and shower and the other a shower only.
We have a large high definition flat screen television in the den/media room and a flat screen television in the master bedroom plus dvd and vcr players.
Our large pool-patio has comfortable lounge chairs and a large round dining table plus wrought-iron tete a tete table and chairs outside the guest bedroom.
Sanibel is famous for its sea shells which are strewn abundantly over all its beaches. It has bicycle paths everywhere and we have several bicycles of varying sizes for our guests.
Our home is five minutes by car and ten minutes by bike from the center of the island. At the nearby Sanibel Recreation Center there's a water park, a state-of-theart fitness center and a gym with basketball courts and tennis courts.
There are a couple of restaurants within easy walking distance.
There are many other fine restaurants, two theatres, art galleries, shopping centers and many other attractions within a five minute drive from the house.
The home is rented during the winter months and only available in the summer and autumn/fall.
