Aloha! When coming to Hawaii, why not island-hop over to the Big Island of Hawaii or fly directly into Hilo or Kona. We have a beautiful 3 bdrm 2 bath home in Volcano Hawaii! Located on a very private acre in a tropical rain forest, where cool morning mist to tropical sunshine graces your day! We are adjacent to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, which you can maybe see the lava in the caldera, subject to Mother Nature. The town of Volcano is about 28 miles above Hilo. Beautiful Mango wood floors, granite countertops and marble & glassblock double shower bath. Have a great family vacation or a romantic getaway! The home has all amenities, cable TV, DVD, wifi, stereo, wood-burning stove for ambiance, great kitchen with glass-top stove & oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, utensils, riedel glassware & washer/dryer. There is also a great lanai for meals, to sit and read a book or bird watch to take in our beautiful view. There are 2 extra folding futons for the floor if needed besides the King bed, Queen bed & double/full futon bed & porta crib. We are adjacent to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. In addition there are many areas of the Big Island that are very interesting to visit & see. From the Onizuka Mauna Kea summit visitor center day visit or night stargazing, green, black & white sand beaches, City of Refuge, Botanical Gardens, fishing, snorkling, golfing, macadamia nut & coffee farms and numerous scenic drives. We recently ziplined over a waterfall & segway-ed thru a garden in Hilo, fun (check for groupons). There are many hikes, waterfalls, beaches & historic areas of the Big Island that are amazing as well as a food mecca for your foodies. Note there is a $125 cleaning fee at the end of your stay or this can be traded.

The town of Volcano is at 4000 feet above sea level, (well above the last Kilauea lava flow that was in Leilani/Kapoho which is at about 700 feet above sea level & 30 miles away downhill). Adjacent to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, there are art galleries, dining, museum visit waterfalls, the Panewa Zoo, golf (Volcano Golf course is 5 minutes away, and many more G courses in Hilo, Punaluu & Kona/Waikaloa) or swim with the turtles 40 minutes away at Punaluu Black Sand Beach (there are a few toys, etc & beach towels for your use). We’ re 28 miles up from Hilo (closest airport) and 2+ hours from Kona. The Big Island of Hawaii can have snow on the top of Mauna Kea, a misting tropical rain & sunshine (at 80 degrees) at different parts of the island all at the same time. Volcano has some great restaurants (Kilauea Lodge - great Euro-Pacific dinners, Lava Rock Cafe - easy family dining with happy hour & live music, Thai Thai Restaurant, Ohelo Café Grill with farm to table and a brickoven pizza, Volcano Arts Garden cafe & even take-out Sandwiches & pizza) but mostly made up of bed & breakfast places, a post office, 4 stores, a few Art Galleries but close enough to Hilo too for more great dining & shopping. The Volcano Winery is nearby, adjacent to the golf course. In the park you have The Rim Restaurant, Uncle Georges bar/cafe and KMC - Kilauea Military Camp.
