Europe at its best! Have you ever considered exploring Europe at your own pace and at the same time live in one of its most beautiful areas? Our chalet in Tyrol is situated on a very large garden property facing spectacular mountain scenery and overlooking the lake and the town of St. Ulrich, just 45 minutes from the city of Salzburg. It is a wooden house, with large windows and French doors that allow you to take in the scenery from anywhere in the house and access the veranda, that surrounds it on three sides. As you enter the house through the front hall, you will be on the first of several split levels, with a multifunctional room (office-study, bedroom, games room) , a bathroom, and access to the basement with laundry, cellar and furnace room. Three steps take you to the center of the house where you will find the spacious and sunny living room, the fully equipped kitchen and access to the loft. On the next level you can enjoy your meals in the dining area, overlooking an atrium and a small pond. In two separate wings there is one bedroom and a cedar wood and natural stone Japanese-style bath, and opposite it a Japanese tatami room.
The property itself is at the end of a small side road leading up from the lake. At the far end of the property is the log cabin sauna with a wonderful view of the lake, and in the shed you will find all garden furniture, bicycles, roller-blades, skis, golf clubs, basketball hoop (set up in the driveway). There is also (in summer only!) a small pool for a quick dip if you don't feel like walking down to the lake. The surrounding countryside is perfect for any kind of outdoor activity at any pace: Walking, jogging, hiking, mountain climbing, road- and mountain biking, swimming, boating, surfing, kayaking, golfing and skiing (in the summer months, however, you have to drive 1 hour to get to the nearest glacier ski area). Any equipment you want to use is there for you.

St. Ulrich is a small, picturesque and colorful Tyrolean town about 45 minutes west of the city of Salzburg with its unique blend of history and music and about 15 minutes from the Tyrolean city of St. Johann and the famous slopes of Kitzbuehel, that unfortunately have not seen any Austrian winners from the Austrian ski team lately. If you are looking for a convenient location to explore Europe at a leisurely pace and a comfortable and peaceful place to come back to, our chalet is the place. Within a day’s drive you will be in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia. You are welcome to use our Volvo S80 or Renault Grand Espace to go places but you might not want to, since there is so much to do and see right there in the Tyrol and neighboring Salzburg.
