Our house is a large (150 sq m) three bedroom on two floors. Downstairs there's a large and cosy living room (with two leather sofas, satellite LCD 40" tv and a good home cinema sound system with Netflix, dvd,cd,vhs, mp3 player) that connects to the kitchen and large entrance hallway. There is also a studio with hundreds of books both in Italian and English and a computer with broadband connection. The master bedroom is also downstairs (16 sq m) and is equipped with double bed, the other bedrooms are upstairs and are currently used as children rooms. There are two bathrooms with showers, one on each floor.
We live on the raised ground floor of a lovely, recently refurbished building built in the mid 1960s. There is plenty of charm as numerous windows let in lots of sunlight which adds to the sense of space due to the large room size and quite high ceilings . The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances
( fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave , electric oven, tv, blender ) and fireplace/barbecue. Television ( Satellite and Netflix : bbcworld, skynews, cnn, German and French channels) and broadband wi-fi connection are provided as well as washing facilities ( there's a washing machine in a storage room in the courtyard) where bikes (5) are kept. The house has central heating which I doubt you'll need considering the season and it is air-conditioned.
There is a small garden in front of the building with plenty of space to hang out (for evening BBQs or eating outside) and a barbecue. My dad lives on his own in his flat, we share the courtyard; he's quite reserved but he'll be happy to help for whatever you may need.

We live in Sanluri , a small town ( 9.000 inhabitants) in the south of Sardinia. Sanluri is the capital city of our province of Medio-campidano and as such provides all the public services to the nearby towns and villages. It's a very friendly and safe place to live in and there are five banks, a post office, Police and Carabinieri headquarters, firebrigade and lots of other public facilities not to mention the large number of all kinds of supermarkets ( both quality and discount ). There are also a lot of good restaurants where you can taste our delicious Sardinian food and wines ( we recommend the roast suckling pig which is our speciality or the excellent seafood) and some good pizzerias and take-aways.
Sanluri has a nice park ( less than 400 meteres from our house) where you can go to in the evenings with your children who'll find children facilities ( slides, swings and many many other children to play with). In the park there's a pizzeria -restaurant and a bar as well!!!
When and if you come to Sanluri, you'll be surprised at how little time you'll spend at home considering the large number of beautiful beaches, the nearest of which are just about 35/40 mins from our house.
As for beaches, our favourite ones are on the east coast but that is quite a long way to get there and back on the same day. On the west coast, if you like surfing , you might want to try one of the following: "Portixeddu", "Buggerru", here you can probably rent some surfing gear. "Scivu", Pistis , Piscinas and "Torre dei corsari" are beautiful too. "Chia" and "Tuerredda" are special (both near Teulada ) , on the south, south west coast. If there’s strong westernly wind called “Maestrale”, the beaches on the west coast may be a bit rough but if the wind is weak or there’s no wind at all then you’ll find that many famous beaches around the world can’t compare to these ones!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful though Sardinia may be , as far as beaches are concerned, we think that Sardinia isn’t just sun and beaches, it has lots of other things to offer. Cagliari, for example, the capital city of Sardinia is quite interesting , there are lots of lovely spots for a nice evening walk in its historic centre, many nice interesting museums and good shops, cafes and restaurants.
Just 25 kms away from Sanluri is Su Nuraxi a nuragic archaeological site in Barumini. It was inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1997 as Su Nuraxi di Barumini.
Su Nuraxi simply means "the nuraghe" in Sardinian.
The complex is centred around a three-storey tower built around the 16th century BC. At this site Italian archaeologist Giovanni Lilliu discovered a fortified village that at times had been covered by ground and had become a hill. He did the first excavations here in the 1950s.
This site would become important to the timeline of Sardinian civilization: "The relative chronology of Sardinian prehistory is largely based on the first modern excavation of a nuraghe at Su Nuraxi, Barumini.
Just five kms from The Nuraghe in Barumini is the beautiful plateau of “ la giara” where you can admire the flora and fauna of Sardinia but above all you can see the wild Giara horses .
They are a horse breed native to the island of Sardinia, Italy. It is one of the fifteen indigenous horse "breeds of limited distribution" recognised by the AIA, the Italian breeders' association. While of small size due to the hostile environment in which it lives, and sometimes called a "pony," it is considered a true horse.
These are just some of the many interesting things to do and see during your stay not to mention the numerous feasts and festivals that are held in July and August throughout our nice and welcoming territory.
Oh, by the way, before I forget, I think that, even without the abovementioned activities, Sanluri is worth a visit for its spotless blue ski and rainless weather and of course for its really interesting medieval castle dating back to the 14th century where we suggest you see the quite famous wax exhibition and a visit to the war museum and to the nice and well preserved rooms of the castle with their original furniture.
