Natural light and serene wooded views abound from every angle. Abundant windows, open-beam ceilings and French doors bring the outside in, or lure you outside to enjoy the peace and privacy surrounded by towering Monterey pines, native Coast Live Oaks and colorful flowers.
Our home in Monterey, California is comfortable and spacious. The living room features a fireplace backed with adobe brick, a baby grand piano, celestory windows and a wall of French doors opening onto the large deck. Two steps lead up to the formal dining room furnished with antique oak furniture. The area transitions smoothly into a modern and efficient kitchen with bar-seating for informal dining.
The family room invites you to nestle in for fun and relaxation. The wood stove can quickly take the chill off a foggy evening. An entertainment center with a large screen TV, a computer with all the amenities, a pool table and comfy leather funiture all contribute to a room in which you're sure to enjoy spending time. French doors from this room also access the back deck which includes a BBQ area, heat lamps, ample seating and steps leading to the large fenced back yard.
There are two bedrooms available, both with en suite baths. (A third bedroom is used as an office.) The upstairs one has a treehouse feel with views into the leafy treetops and onto your own private sunny deck, loaded with flowers. It offers the comfort of a king-sized bed. The bathroom, recently remodeled, features a Jacuzzi bathtub, and a walk-in tiled shower. Master bedroom #2 downstairs, with a queen-sized bed, is also enhanced by doors that open onto its own private deck with planters of flowers and views beyond. The recently remodeled bathroom includes a walk-in shower, a large soaking tub, a skylight, and a cheery flower box outside the window.
Numerous green plants throughout the house contribute to its inviting atomosphere. And the availability of a television in almost every room, convenient yet unobtrusive, lets you easily enjoy your favorite shows or keep up with the news.

The wooded and peaceful park-like setting of our house extends throughout the neighborhood, as well. There are only two streets in our neighborhood, and ours is a short cul-de-sac with little traffic and friendly neighbors. Meadows and greenbelts, where you may see deer munching or quail scurrying, add to the tranquility and ambiance.
As delightful as our location is, however, the best part is that it is on the Monterey Peninsula and conveniently located! We are just 1 mile from Hwy. 1, the main artery for traveling south (toward Carmel-by-the-Sea, Pebble Beach, or down the coast to Big Sur and beyond) or north (to other peninsula cities and beyond to San Jose or San Francisco). 2 short miles west of our home is scenic Monterey Bay and Fisherman's Wharf, with the world-renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium on Cannery Row just a few minutes further along. Continuing along the bay leads you to the charming town of Pacific Grove and around the point to famed Pebble Beach.
A myriad of books have been written about the Monterey Peninsula and its beauty, diversity and special events, so it would be difficult to cover it all here. From spectacular coastal views and hikes ("The greatest meeting of land and sea" penned poet Robinson Jeffers.), to pristine golf courses, sophisticated and numerous wineries and rated restaurants, and so much more -- you'll never be lacking for something to enjoy!
